In my opinion the slower the start the more chance of accidents/shunts into the first corner....when the starts are too slow nearly all karts are touching each other in the first corner...with faster starts there is more chance to filter in and therefore get round the first corner in one piece....watch the starts at European races, they are fast, and there is very little carnage at the first corner.
Lots of coc here insist on very slow roll up laps and vrey slow starts...a complete recipe for disaster.....a full grid on very cold tyres, all bunched up into the first corner,... an accident waiting to happen!
