Unfortunately not everyone who gives advice on this board actually knows the rules.
In Rotax Max there is no requirement for a 'homologated' kart with a plate, just one that conforms to the MSA regulations in the Competitors Yearbook (Blue Book) and the class regulations in the Kart Race Yearbook (Gold Book) both can be downloaded from www.msauk.org

I'd be suprised if there isnt a chassis number, look at the rear left bearing hanger, or on the cross member behind the seat, or around the lower front bumper rail in the middle. It may have been covered by paint. If not stamp one on yourself on the bearing hanger. No need to bother John Ryan who isnt in today anyway.
