I've currently got an old TKM that I'm going to use to get started in karting with (passing test and getting a bit of track time at practice days etc) but as far as I'm aware it probably isnt race legal anymore as the regs have changed. So, I'm looking for a different class to enter races in - probably towards the end of this year, or maybe 2010.

I'm usually on my own when going to tracks so I'm keen to have a kart that is touch and go, rather than having to ask passers by to start me up (which is a bit embarassing after the 4th or 5th time!).

My budget isnt very large so I'd rather avoid Rotax if I can, but I'm prepared to spend a bit (I'm not unrealistic).

I'm based in Yorkshire (Doncaster) and would happily drive, say, 2 or 3 hours or so to get to a track.

I'm 12 stone and 6ft 2", although I am losing weight gradually.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what class would be good for me? I keep thinking Formula Blue, due to my weight, but have no real idea if this class is popular or what else might be suitable.
