There is most definitely an issue about insuring engine driven vehicles as part of a household contents policy, irrespective of whether they're a named item or not. I would be very surprised if they will honour a claim should be unfortunate enough to need to make one. My friend in the industry gave me more or less the same story as that guy in John's thread above. He specializes in bespoke policies, many for the motorsport industry, so I'd be inclined to take his view on things.

Insurance companies are notorious for wriggling out of claims under the bona fide agreement premise.
