Hi Alex,

Thanks for the message and thanks to "Team Kermit" for drawing my attention to it at Fulbeck today after racing.

Yes, the gap of 0.7mm falls more in line with the traditional gap of 0.25" for a sparkplug.

I thought I was following the manufacturer's recommended gap, as it's not exactly clear from the package that the figure of 0.4mm refers to the diameter of the electrode, rather than the recommended gap, which was always the normal thing to print on the package.

In a "rule of thumb" conversion, for gapping plugs, 0.1mm is a close approximation to 0.004". So 0.4mm is close to 0.016": quite a bit smaller than the normal gap of something near 0.025", a shade under 0.7mm which, it seems, is more like the setting we should be using.
