We have a small towavan box trailer and had some aluminium ramps made to lift the kart to waist level, so that we can put an extra kart (or the genny, tyres, etc etc) underneath. The ramps came with strong legs and they are just superb. I would highly recommend you get in touch with the company:

They're not specialists in Kart gear, but they're the best sheet metal workers I've come across!
