Hi

I think what you are proposing is similar to my outfit years ago. I started out with a 6 x 4 trailer and put timber runners on the top that the kart (prokart in my case) could sit on leaving the trailer below as storage. I then made a steel frame out of conduit that covered the kart and used a tarpulin to cover the frame. Hope that all makes sence, if not I could send a photo or two if it would help.
