where the karts steps out on the brakes is due to where the weight is. because engines are predominantly on the right, its the left hand side that steps outas this puts the weight in line of the center of gravity and direction

imagine a book shelf with a centre of gravity exactly in the middle of it. if you pushed it sideways, so it rocked on an edge, it would have a balancing point...now try to translate that into a kart, with motion instead of gravity acting
