Don't get me wrong, I am not knocking the use of a dyno, they are very useful, I do not know a top tuner/builder that has never used one.....but, a dyno reading is an "indication" of how that motor will perform on the circuit....this is why I do all my motor/carb testing at the circuit...its quite simple, if you test 2 motors back to back, on the circuit, and one is faster on the stopwatch than the other, then thats the fastest motor, no matter what the dyno print out reads.
