Hi Adrian,
Yes the battery is the voltage form the Mychron 4, unless you have an external power lead which you can then use the Rotax battery and it will read the voltage of that.
I don't think there's an official definition guide for the measures list as most are self explanatory but you can rename each measure to suit you if needed.
I've having an aluminium bracket being made to mount the E-box and also an L shaped bracket to mount the Speed sensor. They should be available within the next two weeks. (Email me if interested, my email is in my profile)
The extra temperature probe could be useful but you would have to spend time interpreting the data. Cylinder head temp and exhaust gas can be used for jetting but isn't common in the Rotax class. But it is used extensively in other classes, for example, Comer cadet.
Different data and parameters recorded really depend on if you are going to study it after each session, otherwise RPM, lap time and temp are all that are needed. So for track mapping, yes Lat/Long G-force and a speed sensor are essential, and you have that with the E-box. One extra could be the GPS module, which does plot your racing lines which can help when comparing different drivers or lines.
Ade Smith - the accelerometer should only need to be calibrated once, on a flat level surface. It's just to zero itself. It's best to fit it to the kart, put the kart on the on the dummy grid and calibrate before you go out. Then the map should be right but you may still have to adjust it slightly when creating it for the first time.
The GPS doesn't need calibrating.
Regards,
Paul Granger
