The other little bowl could also have oil in it so it might be worth unscrewing it and checking , athough it will eventually clear.

It can be dangerous when you get this situation as the engine can 'diesel' with the oil and it fires backwards, ripping the pullcord from your fingers, I know, I've done it and it bloody hurts.
