The Easykart engine is a fair bit quicker. It also has the benefit of being TAG (no bump starting!)

Engine rebuilds on the easykart are recommended at 20hrs, but I know that some have done more than 35 without trouble. A full rebuild would be around £300+vat

When I had a TKM people used to say 10hrs to me for rebuilds, but it all depends on what gearing you run. It's been a while since I last had a TKM rebuilt - a full rebuild I would guess could be in the region of £200-300, perhaps someone can correct me?

With either engine if you reduce the revs and run slightly rich you can massively extend the time between rebuilds. I must have done over 50hrs on one of my old 100cc tkms.

Either would be a good choice for practicing.
