i agree with itpro.starts and rolling laps seem to have been clamped down on even sinse i started 5 years ago.i think its an integral part of the race.the pole man chooses the pace of the rolling lap and when he is going to floor it.obviously he shouldnt be allowed to floor it from half way round the track but some leway must be given!
i remember last year at three sisters in really heavy rain when i was on pole.i made my rolling lap a sensible steady pace(not that i had to as i was on a clutch!)i decided to be sensible due to the weather conditions and leave booting it till late so that we didnt reach the first corner too quickly.what happened? the left side of the grid jumped the start and the race carried on.after the race finished i asked why we werent signalled to go round again.the answer was,we thought you had oiled up.my response was its my rolling lap,i control it AND i was being sensible.the same answer was given
yes steve c i could have protested or soemthing but whats the point...really!
