As adey8ball points out, the esses/chicane at Clay Pidgeon as a classic example of all that is bad about kerb riding. Due to either erosion of the kerbs, or resurfacing without correspondingly adjusting the kerb heights, what used to be a skillful left/right requiring a dab of brakes and accurate application of the throttle, is now a flat out/no lift exercise in straight lining that causes substantial damage to the underside of the kart and allows the less skilful driver to go just as quick as a good one. I really see no gain from permitting this at any track, or any corner.
