Depends on what you're using it for.
The hollow axles are a little weaker than solid, but are a lot lighter (you can also buy different grades with different flex qualities). So, if you are looking to lose some weight (for example, in a pro kart) they are great.
Also, less weight in the drive train means less inertia and theoretically better acceleration and braking.
