just out of personal experience i would reccomend the neck brace with the big padded bit going down the back as i feel when i crash whilst wearing it it does stop my neck from violently moving as far but it is soft enough as to not stop my head moving which could cause problems.

they are a bit of a pain to wear but you get used to them after a while.

its all down to you if you want to wear one. personnaly i don't wear a rib protector as i prefer not to although in a crash im sure id want to be wearing one but thats a risk im willing to take as with everything, its down to you as to what risks you want to take and what you feel is protecting you when the worst happens.
