I actually think the plastic back bumpers are a good thing and I'm thinking of replacing my bar-bumper with one. They absorb an impact better than the bar which is a good thing. The problem lies in the plastic front nose cone. Ever since these things were introduced shunting has dramatically increased. You can now stuff somebody off with no mechanical penalty at all ! Nose cones should be finished in a very light deformable structure and any race finisher with damage to that should be excluded. Period.
