hi pete. You'll more than likely have a good share of offs and knocks as you start out. As you know, I subscribe to the view that you will not drive your first kart to its limits initially and by the time you can extract nearly every tenth out of it the kart will be past it's best. There's plenty of time to spank your cash on a new chassis. If as a novice, you have a total loss accident it won't be the end if the world. there's a counter arguement that if you start with good kit then you'll know what a decent kart should feel like and then it's all down to the driver as that is where the limitation is.
