you could put 20 well trained DSO's on a corner and they'd still miss stuff (can't remember which incident it was but at an F1 race they had 16 observers and not one reported a well reported incident that was high profile on TV and if they don't see stuff at F1, then that might give you the hint it isn't possible to catch everything).!

So to repeat the protest system is for you the competitor, not for the CoC as most CoC's wish it was more like a football situation with no immediate appeal, to utilise the system if you feel aggrieved.

Every official I know works tirelessly to see as much as they possibly can, but the reality is some things will be missed and you have a right of protest. Don't moan if you don't use it!
