Depends on how fast you are?

You need to be pulling 14250rpm or more if you are on the black coil or evo kit.

For someone who is a starter and / or heavy 12/ 87

The mid pack use about 12 / 85.

The very fastest - close to lights times use 12 / 84 in 177 or even 12 / 83 if they are going really quick.

I'm at the rear of the mid pack and ran 12/87 for ages thinking I wasn't good enough or fast enough or light enough (running up to 10KG over) to pull less teeth, but went to 12 /86 then 12/ 85 and went faster and still pulled the same top end revs. Went to 12 / 84 and went slower, so settled on 12/ 85.

The fastest lights 162 use 12 / 82 or even 12/81 if they are going very quick.
