Totalkarter, just a point but without the 'bs health & safety', karting, or any form of motor sport for that matter would not go ahead.
Safety is there to make things happen, not stop them and it's not H & S you should be critical of, it's the risk averse insurers and their fear of usurping solicitors' claims that stop things - not H & S.
If, as you say, you are being numbed by bs H & S then to put it bluntly, it's not being managed properly!
