I have always mega tightened our engine clamp bolts, pretty much as tight as I can. Recently we started using a magnesium mount and I was warned to go easy on the bolts, so I did. Nevertheless, one of the threads stripped. So can anyone give me an indication of how tight (or loose) you can get away with on engine mount clamp bolts? Do you just whack em up as tight as poss or does anyone use a torque wrench or what? Similarly, if anyone has a decent repair procedure for a stripped magnesium thread I would love to hear it? I was going to try a helicoil first and if that fails then go for a nutsert...? Can't afford a timesert in the circumstances
