Make sure that you have a back up cable on your brakes going from the master cylinder to the pedal. Make sure that it would work should the main rod / cable snap.

Other than that it's all about safety, no loose nuts, make sure when you do up the wheel nuts that you can see a bit of thread of the stud.

Best thing to do though is to get there nice and early and be first in the queue. If you tell them it's your first race then they will help and advise you. It's nothing to worry about though, even if you fail they just send you away with a list of jobs to do and you do the jobs and bring it back to be re-inspected.

But do make sure you get there early.
