Ironically the last person that was telling me it's ok to run 425ml was removing a blown engine from his sons kart after it had done a big-endian at buckmore.

Years ago I ran an F4 slicks & wings single seater with a honda blackbird 1137cc 170bhp engine converted by a sidecar race engine company (mistral) and one of the absolute basics was running the oil 1 inch higher on the dip-stick than standard, as the oil surge was so severe with slicks that it would otherwise expose the oil pick-up and blow the motor to pieces, easy advice to follow!
