Also I forgot to say, I think the base standard GX160 engines are ripe for supercharging, its just a case of finding the correct supercharger, either a scroll or roots type supercharger will do the job, something from a mini will be hugely over the top in terms of flow, so dont even go there.

My point being you could simply bolt the supercharger onto the karts chassis with a bit of bracketry, take a drive from the karts axle with a simple chain system, then you would need to build a simple pressure-tight air-feed enclosure that fully surrounds the carb and also pressurizes the float chamber in order that the fuel does not get pushed out of the float bowl under intake boost conditions.

assuming you could find the right supercharger, it would be a cheap and very fun upgrade, also when supercharging you dont need stupidly high boost pressured like 15 to 20 psi......you only need about 3 to 5 psi and the thing will literally take off

the problem with the GX engines is they dont like high revs after heavy tuning, going the supercharger route will avoid this need and produce stacks of low down torque which is what launches a kart out of the corners

if you want to calculate some boost pressure and air mass-flow figures for the supercharger, which will then determine the drive ratio requirements, all of which will help you select the correct supercharger, then let me know.....simple if you know how, otherwise you are guessing.
