Oh dear, sorry to hear that for Kali and his dad, but I am inclined to agree with the former part of Dogman172's statement above.
But in your defense, it sounds like you are simply victims of a honda cost-save, whereby brass is quite an expensive material, its about 3 to 4 times the cost of stainless steel.....I understand Honda are under severe cost competition from the Chinese clone engine manufacturers, so I dare say there will be lots of cost-down changes that start to surface over the next few months......even things like the grade of tiny O-rings has a big cost effect weather its Nitrile or Viton.
I forget where, but I seem to remember reading once that Honda are considering stopping production of the GX engine range as its no longer financially viable due to the cheap clone engines flooding the market, and the Japanese designers will never let quality standards drop below a certain level, which drives a certain cost level......hey ho, victims of circumstance I guess.
