Hi
As the brakes wear there is more travel for the pads before they come into contact with the disc. Does your kart have thick or thin disc rotor? If it has a thin rotor about 4mm it will prob be a SWRD or Simon Wright brake.Either way you will need to fit shims between the pads and the caliper pistons to take up the slack, you can buy them or you could make some out of Aluminium sheet in various thickness sizes. Also you may need to replace the fluid as a matter of course.....We use API 551 brake fluid as we have the SWRD brake on our 2012 PJ1....I use a large syringe to bleed our brakes...but you can buy a specialised brake bleeding kit for about £45.....(Yeah so save yourself some money and buy a couple of large syringes and some plastic hose from ebay! :-)
Hope this helps!
Bob
