Anyone got any advice on how to repair aly rads?
Not convinced on 'chemical metal' or expoxy glue. Tried solder - doesn't take. Tried 'low temp ali welding kit' but my blow torch was probably a bit big and on a trial scrap rad - melted the rad but not the ali welding rod! Have access to TIG but rad material is too thin for this. We have a rad that has been repaired with what looks like a weld type process - a blob of ali covering a crack with the immediate local area fins melted away. I think this repair was done by Mr Klassen. Was thinking using a tint small blow torch with very localised heat and the 'low temp' ali welding rod?? Can take into a rad repair place, but want to be able to repair our own and don't mind investing in a bit of kit to do it.
