Feedback- Many of the comments passed around the paddock were generally mixed - some people like the concept, whilst others believe it's a waste of time and will only drive people away from karting.
In our case the new moveable bumper concept needs a bit more thinking through as it didn't work particularly well in our case in Snr Rotax.
Qualified 3rd - Kart spun directly in front of ourselves spun into harepin 2 contact could not have been avoided so bumper moved out of position and we incurred 10 place penalty which were informed couldn't be appealled (MSA Rules)even so the incident was witnessed by CoC.
Pre-Final started 13 & finished 1st. Our bumper moved again, there had been no contact whatsoever during the race (Transpired the clamp fixings & upper chrome bar on kart needed at our expence to be changed to ensure a much 'stronger attachment' but never the less we received another 10 place penalty.
Final-started 11th & finished 3rd, bumber again did move ever so slightly on one corner approx 5mm from its holding position and again we received another place penalty.
On a final note, we believe this 1st trial should have shouldn't have been about issueing penalties, but to simply identify and highlight any problems/issues/incidents experienced by the drivers/mechanics/parents and determine way's of resolving some of initial problems experienced during the day.
