We race in that series in Juniors. They have four classes, cadets, juniors, Senior Light and Senior Masters.
They race all over the country from North to South. Usually 8 races in a season. With some dedicated practice days.
We have done MSA racing and Easykart and here are the pros as far as I am concerned.
1) Track time - Saturday practice and Sunday race day is all Easykart. They hire the circuits. This means between the four classes you get loads of practice time and race time. Over two hours.
2) Cost control - no cheque book racing. You are only allowed to own one chassis and one engine to race through the season. If you need to replace then it has to be approved by Easykart.
Each track has a fixed gearing, this is to stop people over revving engines and paying for them to be rebuilt after every race. Again, one full rebuild will last you a season. Keep costs down.
No race teams are allowed. Its proper Dad/Mum/Son/Daughter racing.
3) Technical Support. Easykart have a technical support area to help you fix things and get advice.
As an example, I asked him what revs/times I should be looking at for my boy. He went straight over to the race championship leader and showed me all the data form the Mychron.
4) Because they run the championhsip, hire the track and are not bound by MSA then they can delay heats, and swap order of races to make sure everyone gets out if there is a problem.
They will put the grid around on rolling laps if someone fails to start. I have seen this first hand. They want everyone to race.
5) Zero tolerance on contact and bad driving standards. They will not tolerate it. Again I have seen this and the measures to stop it happening including bans and exclusions.
They run a first three corners policy in that everyone needs to get around the first three corners. If you spin yourself then thats your fault, but if there is contact which results in you going backwards then they will restart.
The whole point is to get everyone racing.
6) There is a franchise for Easykart in many countries and they have a world finals. This is open to anyone racing in Easykart.
7) Its a great "product", professionally run and friendly.
