All good info.

I use the plastic split collars which sit inside the hub and bear against the end of the axle - if the hub is not fully in and stop the hub sliding in. This allows for WD40 all over and means you don't have to tighten the pinch bolts too hard. We have never lost a hub from the axle - going the other way - even using short hubs on a short axle.
The mag hubs seem to leave more deposits than ally hubs!
