I think one of the problems with MSA racing is the rigmarole that clerks etc have to go through in order to punish poor driving.

The big wallet with 'LoadsaMoney' waving it seems to deter clerks from coming down hard on offenders, whereas at IKR the track has the final say and there's no reply.

I'm no fan of the S1 bun fight and whenever I see the orchestrated mechanics waving their arms about, all I can visualise is the frantic stock exchange idiots.

It does seem a shame that the equilibrium of a club is upset by a visiting rabble vying to win a pot that will be of no significance to them, but that's what karting became.

The only person in karting with his finger on the pulse is probably Oliver Scullion (f100 series).

He takes no bull**** and if you don't like it, well.........

He deals with things, and the buck stops with him.

With MSA there are too many corridors and avenues to go down, too many rules and the lawyers can have a field day.

You have to feel very sorry for the clerks etc who kindly volunteer their time freely and have to sit there with their hands tied and a gag in their mouth.

Many people moan about teams but teams per se are not a problem, the attitude of some teams is though.

In pursuit of results, the principles of sportsmanship and fairness are lost in the pursuit of giving loadsaMoney a result.

I suppose it's hard to expect clubs and tracks to turn down the revenue and 'prestige'? of S1 as karting isn't exactly a passage to a gold Rolls Royce for them.

If you mix a clubbie and S1 grid then you must expect the fast drivers to want to get to the front and they will take no prisoners along the way, maybe learn to get overtaken by them without coming to grief because if you watch an S1 video, the manoeuvres are fairly clean up until the last couple of laps usually.
