ref the replacement of the pistons 5hours is what we have been informed and whilst I agree its a great class I do think that some people want to rubbish rotax that has its faults like any other product ,I don't think the costs of running an x30 is much different to a rotax I did a few price comparisons a while ago so I am not sure if these have changed but to give you an idea

the price of gaskets are virtually the same
so as long as you can do the rebuilds yourself it MAY work out a slight saving but if you are going to a builder you might be in for a surprise ,one other thing I noticed on x30 senior is that the time differences between the two classes seem to be a lot closer than when they first came out could that possibly be a change in the tyre compound ,this e mail is not meant to knock either class but to just point out that sometimes the grass is not greener on the other side nb these price comparisons were taken a few months ago so I am not sure if things have changed although with the euro currently 20% weaker you would expect a price reduction
