It's a shame wmkc can't run tkms all year. but I understand there problem, it makes more sense to give the majority as much track time as possible. and with virtually full grids in each classes they ran this weekend. It made sense. Rather than having 2 or 3 extra classes with a handful of drivers in competing. Meaning only 2 heats instead of 3 for everyone.
I do have a small gripe about wmkc it's great they are investing money back into upgrading the circuit with new fences facilities and curbs but at the weekend where they had put new curbs they had left flower beds around the edges meaning on sat ur day and Sunday morning when it was icy / wet / cold a lot of the older classes where running straight over the curbs dragging mud onto the circuit the club noticed this and put cones but never attempted to clear away any of the mud. Entry to the boot was bad and the last corner also. My son was out in the first race after 3 lap practice. Nearly every kart exiting the last corner was running a little wide there is no proper kerb on the exit and no white lines my point to the clerk was they only showed my son one warning flag on the digi board 2 laps from the end but then we got called in with 5 others to be told your excluded for lines I said what lines he said the last corner I said there are no lines he said tough your excluded. Whilton mill or the msa should have taken into account all the mud that had been dragged onto the circuit plus the last corner needs sorting with either a white line or a new raised kerb. Luckily for us we went on to have a great weekend despite being excluded from heat 1. It's a shame Whilton did this last year first round try and make a point of lines then chill out come round 2.
