or that the chassis only works with 130mm front rims.

Base set up for me anywhere in the dry was 17 degree castor, 2mm toe out, 15mm front (on Jet 130 rims), 135mm rear width on 200 rims or 145mm on 180 rim, bumper nipped on the rubbers. Tyre pressure dependent on the circuit but typically 18PSI. Front ride height makes a difference but I can't remember which way around the spacers go. occasionally the mk2 worked better with the middle bearing loose but not always (as with the mk1). At this time of year in the cold I would simply increase the tyre pressure and maybe crank on a bit more toe out.

In the full wet full castor, full with, loads of toe out, full width at the rear and tighten the bumper.

Marks' point on the seat position is valid and you may as well not bother trying the above setup if the seat isn't positioned correctly. I used to know the seat position but it has been years since I fitted one.
