If I were starting out and looking for new gear, I would opt for X30, even if Rotax on the same rubber were quicker or not. I think X30 is a better overall package and if the tales of the Komet tyres being competitive for more than one race meeting are true, that would sell it for me alone. That said I can't afford either and are going Rotax at IKR running on used Mojos which are cheap due to loads left over from MSA racing where they are not competitive for more than one race day! Also current generation used Rotax units may become cheaper as X30 bits and Rotax EVO bits even further!!

But I think Rotax is quicker if on the same rubber - mojos are slower than komet. BUT X30 is much nicer to drive!
