I fully support Martins sentiments here.

Its easy to sit back and snipe about the show because you didnt find anything you wanted in the boot sale or upstairs but at least you got a chance to go and see what was available and talk to like minded people or the trade. The kart boot downstairs is totally beyond his control, but it does give newbies the chance to find cheap bits that they could get started with. The other bonus is that it helps to pay the rent. Silverstone is a great venue, but it aint cheap.

The sad bit is how little support he gets from the trade. There is no other opportunity in the UK for the trade to showcase what they have to offer. Where was the likes of the IAME importer, Tonykart, Honda engine builders, and many others who couldnt be bothered.

I also dont get the kart clubs who dont take the opportunity to have a free stand, Martin does not charge for the small stand. Maybe they feel they have enough customers and wont lose them to another venue which looks good or is friendly and welcoming.

I dont buy the excuse that its too expensive, because the more that the trade supports the show, the cheaper each sq metre becomes and if there is more to see, then there will be more people through the door. So everybody wins.

Whilst I am on a roll, I would like to say well done to the MSA for finally turning up, the sad bit is that I understand they didnt volunteer to come, they had to be badgered into coming.

That to me is a sad reflection on how out of touch with the karters they are. We are there customers and they dont even come to our only exhibition. Maybe the IKR surge is making them realise just how much money they might lose if all that is left is S1 competitors.

So once again Martin thank you for taking the time and risk to organise the only UK karting exhibition. Clay Pigeon Kart Club hope to be with you again next year.

When you look at the venue and what was going on around Silverstone over the weekend, you could make a great day out. Kart boot early, walk around the show, do a Silverstone experience, go back and buy what you wanted, go home fired up for your next race.

The cup is never half empty!!!!!!!
