Yup, it does seem karting needs to modernize with fire-proof overalls and / or nomex underwear.......where did you get your nomex underwear from, what sort of cost???......

Also the vent pipe from the fuel tank overflow bottle should be fitted with a one-way "roll-over" breather vent, which if the vehicle flips over, it stops the fuel flowing out, which I believe is half the problem, but not the complete solution.......this is a standard requirement for any circuit racing vehicle, the parts are commonly available, see this link below, I'm sure there is an even cheaper push-fit item available........
