I can't see any reason why long established kart racing tracks should not acquire some sort of historic protection from outsiders trying to close down their operations. However the greater problem to kart racers would seem to be that track proprietors/ operators seem to be taking the view that owner driver kart racers are 'more trouble than they are worth'. If this thread is linked to the Warden Law news I think it is the case that WL together with Teesside and Three sisters were built using public money, and there may/ should be some ongoing protection for those for whom the facilities were built and financed originally. It would seem that the original MSA club at WL failed due to lack of support and only in the non MSA era under Ian Lawson did it prosper. The situation where track operators/ proprietors are giving up on owner driver kart racing/ testing is not limited to WL.
