There are far too many classes I agree so less choice bigger grids hopefully . As for 10 min heats being child abuse that's ridiculous. Children under ten shouldn't be training or playing sport or physical exercise for longer than 20 mins without a 5 min break to recover they can exercise for a maximum of 90 mins in one session but would have 4 x 5 min breaks to rest take on fluids or have a snack. Our children manage on a Saturday at practice to do 6x 10 min sessions 1 an hour or so fine so why on race day is 45 mins spread over 7 hours to much. My son used to play football Sunday league but to be good on Sunday they trained on Tuesday 6-7.30 and Thursday the same. They loved it being with there mates and training to be better fitter and able to win sometimes, if in any sport u don't train or practice u won't improve and won't be able to compete with your contemporaries. As the saying goes (fail to prepare prepare to fail) I believe u give whatever u do 100% and yes it needs to be fun if it's not fun anymore, go and do something else. I think when u start as a novice/rookie it needs to be for longer than 5 meetings. it takes closer to 6 months racing to really be, one fast enough, but most importantly your race craft is good enough to then be moved into the main pack. It would be far better if it was compulsory for novices/rookies to stay and race other novices/rookies for longer that way the novices that progress quicker will slowly be battling with kids at the back of the main grid while those novices that are taking longer to find there feet will still be battling with other novices but still having great races. We rush these young cadets to much. In your fifth race u r a novice and start 28th next week u aren't classed as a novice and start on pole in a mixed grid the fact u were 2 seconds of the pace as a novice isn't taken into consideration. That child is scarred they get swamped by most of the quicker drivers and this is a recipe for disaster. I think all clubs should use qualifying so that the order of drivers should be roughly were your pace dictates, I think it would help all drivers
