i've just bought my first kart and the first time out learned a valuable lesson!

Never rely on what others say they have done to the kart.

I assumed that all bolts were correctly tightened, how wrong was I? All of the bolts in the right hand engine crank case cover came loose (so much so that I lost a bolt and all the others were hanging out) causing all of the oil to drop out. Resulting damage was a worn conrod at the big end. Fortunatly the crank is OK, just need to replace the conrod.

Lesson number 2 is on it's way......how to replace the conrod!

Oh the joy of karting, still can't wait to get out again.
