Well said Chris.

There is a clear route from the looser regulation of IKR where engines or tyres may be significantly different through to the more structured playing field of MSA for those that want to take it.

There is very little price advantage between the two categories except where the organisers have put in place rules that limit the expense of tyres. (eg: Clay)

The big difference I have seen over the last 25 years is that the MSA Grids are, for the most part, dominated by a small group of drivers who can afford to spend most weekends on the track and travel hundreds of miles to do so, and whose experience shows clearly when competing against the much more limited budgets of the average 'clubby'. I can understand wanting to drive against those of a comparable standard and finding them in IKR.

But as we have said before, the moment the big budget drivers decide that they can have more fun passing big grids of less experienced drivers than fighting with small grids of people of their own experience, then IKR are going to have similar problems. Perhaps IKR will start to have "National B" meetings for local drivers only and refusing entries from those known to compete in SuperOne or competed for National trophies, for example:-) .

I think those days are a lot closer than some people think.
