"I dont think what you've described regarding billies is illegal in msa racing."

Debatable, it depends exactly how you interpret

"12.5.3. Any Driver leaving the track more than twice, for whatever the reason, may be excluded from the race.
12.5.4. Where a Driver consistently drives with a wheel off the track or leaves the track, this may be deemed driving in a manner incompatible with general safety and the Driver may be excluded from the race at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course."

For a manoeuvre that regularly has no wheels on the track, though it may have one 4 inches above the track and that you have said "you'd have to be nuts to do it though".

Clearly the CoC thought that the driver concerned was in control, not doing it in traffic and therefore not driving dangerously. Four feet behind the driver, I just wished I had had the skill or guts to follow him and stop losing 3 kart lengths lap after lap after lap.

But I agree, I have only seen it in one class and only a couple of very good drivers.

I think the tyre rules are fine.

However, do you intend, in the spirit of IKR to allow drivers to enter the championship after the first round? (particularly relevant next year when you may have more events). It might be interesting to see what happens if someone enters after the first round and has better tyres. OK you award 'non-attendance' points for the missed rounds (same as the NKRA ) so you cannot win the championship, but it could upset the expected order.

And, wearing my win-at-any-cost hat, if my mate enters and gets a set of tyres but doesn't go to a round, can I use his tyres during the next round? Even if I promise to scrub them in so they don't look new? ( I realise it isn't in the spirit you want, but I did say it was my WAAC hat)

You see, my experience with this sort of thing is that it is this sort of unconsidered trifle that bites you unexpectedly.

"I think the judicial procedure is great too, don't you?"

Yes, well I guess you could deal with my use of my mate's tyres by saying, after the complaint, "It doesn't say it's illegal, but you should have known and you cannot argue because our decision is final"

Don't get me wrong, I think it is a great idea, right up to the point where someone takes winning so seriously they look at ways of giving themselves an advantage off the track as well as on.

But I guess that is the point where either you exploit the finality of the official word, draft the regs very, very carefully or point them at MSA events.
