Yes I agree Steve, it seems like when the rear end went t*ts skyward the rest followed accordingly. I've certainly not got any reservations about the kart's potential, as you say it wasn't exactly expensive and I've already had good results on it at Camberley and in testing, so it's just a matter of sorting out the teething troubles and getting it dialled in I'm sure.
