Phil, I think Adam has a good point there, if the back was shot which we know it was, then no wonder the front didnt want to play ball. Looking at the timings the kart did a 41.5 in second practice (when it was very cold) a 41.8 in Q in either Sam or Anwars hands - then it lost its chain, due to the axle presumably having moved and your times fell away.
As discussed on the phone, get the axle and bearings sorted, perhaps to a different setup where its less likely to move. I will check Vince's one at the weekend and see how that works. Then when you are back down to the times we know it can do on the old tyres its time to sell a kid or a kidney and buy some new rubber, and see what that does. We can also try those 25mm stubs and/or beefier 17mm's that Ive got in the van.

At the end of the day a 1999 R1 (with Casey Stoner number decals, how cool?) finished 5th and a mid 90's BIZ finished 7th, so Im convinced with the good driving team you have you can make good use of that kart this season, given the pittance you paid for it.
