They are great for standing starts as they have 6 shoes and it makes no difference which way round you fit them - so no different settings whether in board or otherwise.

They do, however, loose their sharpness fairly quickly. I raced them for an entire season a few years back and thought they were ok. We did have standing starts, however, and they wouldn't last longer than 3 meetings.
