They can make a big differance...but it depends on which class you are runnning in , and what tyres you are using....ie in TKM with hard tyres,you could probabley run without seat stays, and it will make no differance,especially in the winter.....if you are running KF2 or KF1 you will have to run seat stays to be competitive, the extra grip, and corner speeds, in these classes make seat stays a must.
