This is the main thing that hurts the club racing.

6 rounds of super 1, 6 rounds testing is 12 race meetings before you do anything else...

I dont see why we need any more than 4 maximum, I think perfect would be 3 rounds, June, July and August. Also the kids are off school around here also, so it would be ideal.

Too many championships, for me a option to build karting from the ground up maybe to have the following:

You could split all the abkc clubs in the UK into groups of 4 (they would need to be pretty close to each other).
Example: 3 Sisters, Hooton, GYG and Wombwell.
Each club must run on a diff weekend. (stopping the silly clashes that take place creating difficultys with marshals officials etc etc)
You then have 1x regional champs race at each of the 4 clubs held within the club meeting (so 4 rounds in total)
The winner (plus 2nd maybe??) from the regional championship then has the option to go to race at a one off national race later in the year.
If this was put in a month which had 5 weekends in that month, it wouldn’t have any effect on any club racing at all.
This would allow all the classes to still be viable options, the travelling championships wouldn’t be needed any more, club racing would be boosted and the foundation for our sport would become more stable and solid.
The weaker clubs of course would benefit from the extra entries, the distribution of drivers would level out, and some proper structure to karting would be in place, with people earning the right to race at the top level, everybody else has to learn and be schooled at club racing, which is where it should be done, also club racing standards would increase naturally due to this.
The National championship (over one weekend) event could be placed on a regional rotation, so it is at a different track each year, and the club whom are running the meeting get to make some extra money towards there club by holding the meeting, or the 4 clubs in that region split it between them and work together to run the meeting and make it special......
Every class doesn’t have to be at the same event, for example you could still keep all the rotax classes together, TKM etc and do as above.

This way the people racing in the national championship are worthy of it (if the winner doesn’t enter to rep his region its passed on to the next guy down the list).
The Money from the championships stay in club racing not in commercial championships.
Club racing is alot more competitive and stable due to the increase entries.
