Crashlanding, the thing to remember is that kart clothing is abrasion resistant, not flameproof, therefore you do not need to have Nomex or flameproof underwear, gloves etc.

Personally, unless you have aspirations to move into cars, I would save your money.

As to what to wear underneath your suit, people wear t-shirts, thermals, leggings etc, depending upon the weather.

Other considerations are that whatever you wear, you are going to be in it for most of the day, so if its hot and you are sweating, your underclothing could become very damp and you could be cold come your final. Thin layers are probably best.

The other thing is to make sure that you can still fit in your seat properly with whatever layers you do decide to wear.
