Errrrr...... don't we STILL have bet on which it's YOU who have welched up until now? I don't see YOU arriving in the water-powered car...... which is ANOTHER of your crack-pot, hippy, tree-hugging, save-the-shrimp MINDLESS CONCEPTS .... on which we have an EXISTING bet!
However, I AM a gambling man and I will be happy to take ANOTHER bet with you on a number of conditions..... but I'll come to those at the end...!
I would be willing to take that bet simply because it's a 50:50 or BETTER in my favour!
Will I patheticallty attempt to claim that WINNING a 1 year bet somehow PROVES a point (as you UNDOUBTABLY WILL) if I win?

I am NOT 'Singers', so I wouldn't be so DAFT!
I will know that no matter WHAT happens in 2009, it has VERY little bearing (I hope) on the GLOBAL WARMING simply because I have the IQ (which you lack) to realise that the difference between a SINGLE year (or few DAYS in your case) is SWAMPED by a MUCH larger TIDE of inexorable warming what manifests itself over A HUNDRED YEARS! The minor pimples and dips, lasting mere MONTHS, on the 150 year slope...... DON'T MATTER: it is the TREND about which the SANE and EDUCATED world are worried!
So...... I ACCEPT you bet and, as I am the challenged, I claim the right to chose the 'weapons' and the PAYMENT and the METHOD!
1) We base the bet on the BRITISH Met Office statement! If THEY say the 2009 is the same or warmer than 2008, then I have won. If they say it wasn't, then I will have LOST!
2) The amount of the bet will be a bottle of (non-vintage) Champagne the EXACT bottle to be designated BY ME!
3) We SHARED the bottle when you come to collect your OTHER (tee hee!) 'winnings' when you arrive in your water powered car (not Hydrogen FUEL CELL, nor Hydrogen BURNING) using EXACTLY the 'principles' (tee hee!) of the LAST load of old TOSH that you claimed!
But...... while I wait, I'll read a few more fanatasy novels so I can spot EXACTLY where you STEAL your NEXT set of 'ideas' (sic) and pretend that they are 'science'! Do be careful: I HAVE read all of the Harry Potters, Narnia, Pheonix and the Carpet, His Dark Materials and Hobbit books already so you really HAD better widen your 'research' range!
